Former contestant for the coveted seat of NRM Regional Vice Chair, Eastern Uganda has officially come out to ask his supporters to rally behind the Party and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Sanjay Tanna in a media post last Friday thanked the Party delegates that voted for him and also asked them to mobilise for President Museveni.
“Dear, Delegates, thank you very much for the votes, love and support during my CEC elections. While we wait for the final outcome, I look forward to working with many of you as we mobilise for H.E President Y.K Museveni and the NRM Party.” Tanna said in his message.
Sanjay contested against the incumbent, Flight Capt. Mike Mukula who was eventually declared winner amidst widespread allegations of vote tampering.
Consequently Sanjay contested the outcome and petitioned the Party Chairman and also President of Uganda.
The outcome of the petition is still unknown.
Speaking to eastnews.co.ug website this morning, Sanjay revealed that for the good of the Party it was important for him to rally his troops behind President Museveni’s candidature.
It must be noted that despite Mukula’s declaration as winner, Tanna won in the East, a region he was to represent in CEC by a landslide. He also won in Karamoja, Northern Uganda, West Nile and in many districts in Western Uganda.
Whispers reaching our desk also indicate that Mike Mukula has been sending emissaries to Sanjay so that they work together for the NRM Party.
The message therefore is to massage the many disgruntled delegates especially in the East that intended to vote out Mike Mukula.
