The office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Sironko is on a lockdown after results for the Deputy RDC returned as positive on Monday 05/10/2020.
When his samples were taken for testing at the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI) in Entebbe, it became procedurally necessary that the RDC and other staff at that Office also needed to be tested for the Corona-virus.
The mandatory testing is because obviously they are considered as Contacts, being working colleagues with the Deputy RDC.
On Tuesday 6th October, the RDC Sironko among the other staff underwent sample extraction by a Lab technician from the DHO’s Office.
The results are expected in 48 hours’ time.
Work at that Office is expected to slow down pending the return of the results, on account of taking precautionary measures to mitigate any consequent risks!
In the meantime, the offices at the entire block are due for sanitization.
Should the results turn out positive for any of or for all of the staff, and then they will be required to go into self-isolation / quarantine, as they start on treatment.
The public in Sironko and elsewhere thus, are urged to bear with that office as the affected staff go through this moment.
The RDC will continue his work but on a low key. After the 48 hours, further guidance will be given accordingly.
