DON’T BE CHEATED: Here Are Official UNEB Fees, Examination Time Tables For PLE, UCE, UACE

Adopted from New Vision

As registration for PLE, UCE and UACE kickoff tomorrow, the Ministry of Education in conjunction with UNEB has issued the official registration fees for the different levels.

The ministry has also warned schools across the country to desist from hiking Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) fees.

The official UNEB fees are sh34000 for Primary Leaving Education, sh164000 for Uganda Certificate Education and sh186000 for Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education.

Students will be expected to start registering for Uganda National Examinations on October 22 and the process will end on November 20.

The Schools Calendar shows that the briefing of students will be on February 26, and the Uganda Certificate of Education examinations will start on March 1, 2021, to April 6, 2021.

Odongo explained that the briefing of candidates in Primary Seven will be on March 26 and they will later sit for their examinations on March 30 and March 31, 2021.

Briefing for Senior Six candidates will follow on April 9 and they will sit for examinations from April 12 to May 3, 20121.

The ministry says it is ready to take serious action against schools and head teachers, who extort parents.

The Director of Basic and Secondary Education, Hajji Ismail Mulindwa, says that they have received reports that private schools are charging exorbitant UNEB fees to finalists yet is illegal.

“Some selfish directors have become a burden to the parents by charging illegal UNEB fees.  If we get any school hiking UNEB fees, we will withdraw the license. If it is a Government school, the head teachers will be held accountable. Such people are frustrating government efforts by making education unaffordable.” Mulindwa said.

Mulindwa called upon parents to report headteachers to the ministry who have increased fees.
