The arrested Kampala businessman David Katumwa on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 16 year old girl is known for having insatiable appetite for underage girls.
Katumwa is in police detention to help with investigation into a case of a missing 16-year-old girl who was allegedly last seen at his home having been arrested on Monday.
Katumwa who was nominated to run for the Nansana municipality parliamentary seat isn’t new to controversy involving underage girls.
Known for dealing in sportswear and equipment through Katumwa Sports Center, the accused was arrested in 2015 on allegations of defiling a Primary Seven girl.
The 13-year-old girl accused Katumwa of luring her into a lodge in Zzana where he allegedly defiled her.
During investigations, the teenager led detectives to Silda Guest House in Zzana where she was allegedly defiled by Katumwa.
Police established that the teenager was paid Shillings 20,000 by the suspect who warned her not to tell anyone what had happened. However, Katumwa maintained his innocence, saying he was being framed. The case ended mysteriously before reaching court.

The mother of the girl, Ms Yasmin Ahmed, 37, a resident of Makindye Kizungu, Kampala, said her daughter, Nadia Najjingo,16, disappeared from home on September 25.
Ms Ahmed said Najjingo disappeared after she threatened to beat her because she did not want to disclose who bought her an expensive Smartphone.
“I began to search for my daughter until I got information from her cousin Bakran, 17, who said Najjingo could be at Katumwa’s home and that he is the one who bought for her the phone,’’ Ms Ahmed indicated in her police statement.
Mr Ibrahim Kafuma, the stepfather of the girl, told police that when they got information that she was missing and suspected her to be at Katumwa’s home, he rang the businessman but he did not answer the calls.
“The next day when Katumwa called me, I went to his home and he told me the missing girl was at his place but he escorted her out of his home and left her to go home,’’ Mr Kafuma said.
Police say on October 15, Bakran called the mother that someone had seen the girl in Katumwa’s car in Nateete, Kampala. The mother then called Katumwa but before she could talk to him, he asked her about the whereabouts of the girl.
The Deputy police spokesperson for Kampala, Mr Luke Owoyesiggire confirmed Katumwa’s detention and said investigations revealed a close connection between the girl and Katumwa before she went missing.
