BUTALEJA

The Butaleja district LCV Chairman has faulted the NRM Central Executive Committee for delegating Lydia Wanyoto to mediate the reconciliation of the winners and losers in the recent party primary elections in Butaleja.
Richard Waya said Ms. Wanyoto is a champion of vote rigging, corruption, and other forms of violence.
Speaking to this reporter yesterday, Waya said he does not regret omitting the meeting.
The chairman also reasoned that it is too late to engage politicians into such meetings and fore told that it could lead to the collapse of NRM.
Waya, is the incumbent district leader who never accepted the outcome of the NRM primaries that threw him out but has opted to stand again as an Independent candidate.
Others who lost in the primaries but insist on contesting, include Jacob Wangolo, Moses Nagwomu, James Waluswaka, and Agatha Hamba Muloki, a daughter of the Late Douson Mulooki, a former chairman of NRM in Butaleja.
In another development, Mr. waya, revealed that he has embarked on rehabilitating the roads across the district despite being into politics.
He said that the government recently released some money to use in the road rehabilitation thus they repaired the grader that had halted the business. Most of the roads are inaccessible in Butaleja, because of the heavy rains.
