Fear has gripped workers of St Andrews Cathedral Mbale as two staff have been confirmed positive with covid-19.

According to Reverend John Wilson Nandaa, the Diocesan Secretary, this followed massive testing they did at the diocese yesterday 11th November 2020.

He adds that they have beefed up with SOPs like hand washing, sanitizing, and putting on face masks at the diocese as a way of reducing further spread of the virus.

Nandaa also urged different church leaders under Mbale diocese to observe SOPs and take one hour for prayers since the government has increased the number of gatherings from 70 to 200.

Jonathan Wangisi, the Mbale District Health Officer when contacted, confirmed the incident.

He urged the public to continue observing SOPs as directed by the Ministry of Health saying that the two are now receiving treatment at the district covid19 isolation center in Mbale regional referral hospital.
