Government has lost important data after unknown thugs broke into NIRA offices in Mbale last night, 10th January 2021.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, the thugs broke into the offices located at Half London Ward, Northern city Division in Mbale City and went away with office items worthy millions of shillings.
Taitika revealed that the items taken are four laptop computers, one cannon camera whereas other important office documents were damaged.
He added police has started looking for the suspects such that they can be arrested.
Taitika also urged the public with information relating to the incident to inform police such that they can arrest the criminals.
Hassan Kaija, director NIRA Mbale region urged police to expedite the investigations such that the suspects can be arrested and recover the stolen items since they had very important government information.
He also urged police to improve on patrols especially at Half London Ward because it’s becoming home to thugs.
