Senior Ngora Conman Arrested For Fleecing Unsuspecting Public

Police in Ngora Central Police Station are holding a one Okello, a senior conman for allegedly defrauding over million shillings from the public.

 

Ambrose Onoria, the Resident District Commissioner-RDC Ngora says the suspect who is a resident of Wera sub-county in Amuria district was arrested yesterday 17th February 2021 at Mukura sub-county.

 

According to Onoria, Okello was arrested for allegedly fleecing 10,000 shillings from each person through promises of free education scholarships.

 

Onoria says that despite his notices about the conman, the public paid deaf ears to his repeated warnings.

 

Some angry locals who talked to our reporter disclosed that Okello has been collecting money from them while promising to take their children to school for free education.

 

The suspect who is detained at Ngora central police station has been using a company whose name has been withheld for security reasons.

 

If found guilty, Okello will face charges of fraud, obtaining money by false pretense and impersonation.
