SOROTI
Gweri Member of Parliament Elect, who surprisingly attended his Senior One at the age of 28 has asked politicians who are vying for various political positions to go back to school to avoid shame.
Speaking to our reporter yesterday 11th April 12, 2021, at his residence in Gweri Sub County, Soroti District, Tom Julius Ekudo said most politicians in Teso have been ashamed due to lack of academic qualifications.
Ekudo who recently graduated with a 2nd Class Upper Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development and Public Administration at the University of Kisubi- Kampala revealed that politicians should not be ashamed to go back to School even if they are old.
While giving reference to himself, Ekudo revealed that he joined Senior One when he was 28 years old with a family of three children.
“I first joined S.1 when I was 16, however, when things became hard, I went back home and married my wife and we produced three children. After 12 years, I went back and rejoined S.1 when I was 28. I joined Alliance S.S in Soroti for my O’ Level and Community S.S for A’Level, so now I have papers,” Ekudo said.
While asking politicians who get opportunities to go back to school to grab the chances, Ekudo bragged that whoever wants to challenge his victory on the basis of his academic qualifications can try his/her luck.
Meanwhile, Ekudo told this website that he will promote Education in Teso and offer bursaries to needy students. He also revealed that he has already sponsored over 100 students this academic year alone.
