TORORO

Tororo National Resistance Movement (NRM) fraternity is organizing to celebrate a belated President Museveni’s swearing in as the new Uganda’s President.

The celebration is being championed by former Ambassador to Kenya, Phibby Otaala who is also the Tororo NRM Vice Chairperson.

According to Otaala, the celebrations will take place on Friday the 14th of May 2021 at Municipal council offices, two after the official celebrations. President Museveni will be sworn in on 12th May 7, 2021.

This was arrived at during an emergency meeting attended and chaired by Tororo district NRM Administrator Mawelle Kirum, the NRM District registrar Joseph Kadokech, Tororo district youth league chairperson Charles Owori and other party officials.

Phibby says they decided to decentralize the ceremony to give Tororo people a chance to celebrate the victory and bless the new 5 year term of President Museveni.

Phibby said they have so far realized 5 million Shillings towards the ceremony and a couple of national and international subscribers of NRM and delegates are expected in the celebrations.

She asked members of other political parties to join in the celebrations arguing that upon swearing in, President Museveni becomes a President for all.

President Museveni emerged victor in the January 14th Polls after defeating 10 other candidates including National Unity Platform (NUP) former candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi.
