Col. Edith Nakalema rescues Evicted 95 Yr Old Woman Living Under A Tree

The Head of the State House Anti – Corruption Unit has rescued a 95 year old woman who was forcefully evicted from her land and was now living under a tree.

 

Colonel Edith Nakalema in a tweet revealed that the case of Kyomulabi Maimuna of Buwambo village in Wakiso reached her office when the Octogenarian had sought refuge under a big tree.

 

This happened on Wednesday 19th May 21, 2021 at Wakiso when Nakalema herself picked the old woman from the tree where she had made a home·

 

“95 year old Kyomulabi Maimuna, was forcefully evicted from her land in Buwambo, Wakiso. She was found living under a tree when the matter was brought to the attention of the unit.” Nakalema tweeted.

 

She revealed that Investigations into what is thought to be an illegal eviction have commenced and that the case will be followed to its logical conclusion.

Increased Cattle Theft Worries Budaka Leaders

Leaders in Budaka district have expressed concern over the increase in cases of theft of livestock like cows and goats.

 

The LC one chairman Nakibulu village, Machooli Ward, Patrick Kabazi said a total of 100 goats and 6 cows have been stolen in the past one week in the area by unknown thugs.

 

Kabazi said the stolen livestock are later taken by the thugs and slaughtered in Mbale after being sold at giveaway prices.

 

He urged police to set up road blocks along the Mbale to Jinja highway during late night hours to ensure they arrest people suspected to be behind the increasing theft of livestock in the area.

Two On The Run After Stealing From Coffee Buyer

Police in Bugweri district are hunting for two men over theft of coffee worth shillings 1.8 million from a prominent businessman.

 

The accused persons; Patrick Mboizi and Henry Ntaala are believed to have sneaked into the home of a prominent businessman, one Ben Kirya who runs a lock up along Ngobi road Iganga municipality.

 

Kirya is a resident of Kasozi B village Makutu Sub County, Bugweri district and stole coffee worth shillings 1.8 million.

 

According to the LC one chairman Kasozi B village, Bumali Mugabi, police and local council officials acting on a tip off arrested one Jamilu Mwondha after being informed that he was searching for a buyer within the trading center.

 

Mugabi said the suspect later informed police how they executed the mission to sneak into the home of the businessman during night hours on Wednesday 19th May 21, 2021.

 

The officer in charge Buwongo police post, George Ntende said investigations into the matter were still underway.
