Sironko District Council Passes 44.5 Billion Budget for Financial Year 2021/2022

New Sironko district Council has passed a budget of 44.5 billion shilling for next financial year 2021/2022.

 

The Council that sat yesterday 26th May 2021, also saw the district LCV Chairperson, David Livingston Giluli name his Executive.

Lydia Gimono was appointed Vice chairperson, Herbert Musika, Secretary for Social Services, Bas Nabukwasi Secretary for Production, Milton Nabayo, Secretary Finance and Administration.

 

According to Giluli , they have prioritized the education sector and allocated it 22.5 billion shillings, followed by agriculture with 12.4 billion shillings, then public sector with 4 .3 billion among others.

 

He adds that they want to uplift education standards in the district by constructing more schools and toilets which are in sorry states like that of Nabodi primary school.

 

Isaiah Wanzira Sasaga, the MP representing Budadiri East Constituency who attended the council urged the technical and political staff to work together such that they can implement the budget for the benefit of the common person.

 

Dison Balayo, councilor representing Sironko Town Council, Evelyn Nafula of Kama Town Council and Gudoyi Yeku from Bubeza expressed joy with the passing of the budget saying they are going to work together with the technical side to make sure they make Sironko develop.
