The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Amuria District has appealed to the general public to respect Ministry of Health guidelines on the fight against Covid-19.

RDC Lillian Eyal who spoke to this reporter this morning 2nd June 2021, said the general public should work together with the respective district Covid-19 taskforces and government officials in the fight against escalating COVID-19.

She said it’s very important for the community to be keen in observance of all the preventive measures against the spread of covid-19.

She raised this following the death of one of the members of Amuria District Service Commission last weekend who succumbed to Covid-19.

According to Eyal, people should observe all the standard operating procedures like washing hands, masking when in crowds and social distancing among others.

She said if possible the community should stay at home and avoid unnecessary movements to urban centers and crowded places. This is in order to protect them from the now seriously roaring cases of the second wave of coronavirus.

She also tasks the school administrators to vividly monitor and ensure that the learners put on the masks at all times.
