Teso College Aloet has received a total of Uganda Shillings Five Billion from Government towards improvement of the school.
The funds are part of the Presidential pledge of 2015.
According to Julius Opaso, the 15th Head Teacher of Teso College Aloet, the 5 billion shillings will be used for the construction of 3 of 4 classroom blocks, 8 new dormitories, Washrooms in between two dormitories, Dining hall renovation and Residential houses.
He also added that the funds will be used to help renovate the A ‘level classrooms and laboratory.
Four billion shillings according to Opaso will be used for the construction of eight new dormitories and Washrooms while one billion will be used for rehabilitation of structures.
Teso College Aloet is one of the traditional government aided schools in Teso with over 1500 students.
The school has benefited from financial support from Government for improvement of its structure namely, in 1990, government gave 100M for rehabilitation and 2011 to 2012 4.9 billion for rehabilitation of other structures among others.
Opaso also commended Teso Politicians and Stakeholders for their tireless efforts in developing the school.
On Implementation of SOPs, Opaso said the school has managed to contain and maintain the SOPs with no registered cases of COVID-19.
Whereas the implementation has come with costs including readjustment of classrooms which has called for more manpower and Entertainment of Students affected, Opaso added that, the health situation in the school is good.
