The Ngora District Resident Commissioner has been forced to start mass COVID-19 Sensitization of area locals against the spread of COVID-19.

Ambrose Onoria says the move will help in reducing the spread of the pandemic.

Speaking at Ngora Township Primary School in Ngora town yesterday 30th August 2021, the RDC says some residents have failed to abide by the set Ministry of Health Guidelines.

Ngora District registers a minimum of 5 positive cases with majority of them under home based care.

The exercise according to Onoria will be rolled out in all major places including markets and major trading centres in the District.

The locals will be sensitized on how the virus spreads and how to mitigate the spread.

“The emphasis are part of the objectives in stopping the possible spread of the virus and also a containment measure to curb the outbreak of the third wave of COVID-19.” Onoria said.

Those who will be found violating the SOPs after the sensitization will be arrested and charged says Onoria.

Currently in Ngora residents who are found without facemasks are arrested and charged.
