The Resident City Commissioner (RCC) has launched the distribution of over Shs400M allowances meant for LCI chairperson, Cell covid19 committee members and Village Health Team members.

Ahamade Washakie launched the distribution of the Covid-19 money yesterday 14th September at former offices of Wanale division in Mbale City.

While speaking during the launch, Washakie said the money has been given to all villages and cells country wide to empower covid19 village task force committees in the fight against the pandemic.

He cautioned technocrats against misappropriating the money but give to genuine people such that covid19 can be fought at lower levels.

Washakie also revealed that each Cell will take Shs400,000 to be shared by all beneficiaries.

Dan Wokusa, the LCI chairperson of Mukubu Cell in Industrial city division and Lona Haiza, the VHT at Zesui cell expressed their happiness with the money but urged government to increase the package since its very little to share with all village covid19 committees.
