An official of State House Health Monitoring Unit has warned Medics in charge of the Covid-19 vaccination in Soroti Main Referral Hospital against neglecting patients.

Grace Ediegu Etelu commonly known as Atorob Kwap sounded the warning today 16th September 2021 while having a brief meeting with a team of Medics at the Hospital.

Ediegu later told the media that she got a call from the community early this week that the vaccinators in Soroti Main Referral Hospital were not mindful of clients. She said community members complained that they are made to wait for long hours being attended to, a concern she said touched her heart.

“I have met them and told them to pull up their socks if they want peace with Atorob Kwap because if they don’t do it, I will march them to police. Today I have come baptizing them with water but next time I come, I will come baptizing them with fire and I won’t hesitate marching them to police,” she said.

She also explained that the turn up was over whelming the first time the vaccine was brought to the hospital but because of the attitude of the nurses, the number of clients reduced.

She also advised the community to stop paying attention to rumors being spread on social media that the vaccine is bad arguing that its false propaganda that the governments is up to killing its people with the vaccination.

She further called upon the community to go for the covid 19 vaccination that will help prevent further severe complications while giving an example of the USA where citizens are not on face masks because the majority of the population got vaccinated.

Soroti has got two vaccines available, astrazeneca that was targeting the elderly and those with different complications and sinovac targeting people of 18 years and above.

Ediegu also advised people to desist from using local herbs explaining that their dosage isn’t known.

“I won’t encourage people to continue using local herbs,” she added.
