Church leaders in Teso have come out to assure the public that the Covid-19 jab has got nothing to do with the devil’s 666 nor Illuminati as circulated in social media.
In an interview with this website, Edison Oluka, a lay leader at St Paul’s Church of Uganda in Moruapesur Ward in Soroti City East, called upon Christians to disregard the propaganda since even church leaders are going for the vaccination.
“Also saying that government wants to kill it’s citizens is wrong because the vaccine was approved by the health ministry before the vaccination started, we also appreciate the government for opening up places of worship,” he added.
Rev Ekou Mackay of the main Pentecostal Assembly Church (PAG) in Soroti City also called upon the public to embrace the vaccination exercise that’s on going.
“As church leaders, we need to teach the Christians why they should embrace the vaccination and we are going to do that while preaching, we should pray to God as life belongs to his hands and we should further continue observing the SOPs’ instead of being forced but rather do it voluntarily so that we don’t get affected during this trying time,” he added.
Most of the churches were overwhelmed by Christians excited to pray but different churches were able to control the crowds following different Masses and SOP’s tightly observed by all those around the church.
