In a bid to improve on the livelihood of the youth in Kapelebyong district, over 500 Youth are set to undergo Free vocational skills from Mama Cash Vocational Skills Development Centre a non-government organization.
The project dubbed as “Community Based Skilling” was launched Monday 25th-Oct-2021 at Acowa sub county headquarters and will last for three months across the district.
According to Jackline Ajego, the programs manager, Mama Cash Vocational Skills Development Centre, this project is aimed at empowering young people especially teenage mothers, disabled, elderly persons, and unemployed among others.
Ajego adds that the selected beneficiaries will undergo vocational skills such as carpentry, hairdressing, leather design, mechanics, making liquid soap and reusable pads and others.
Our reporter caught up with some overwhelmed youth who applauded Ajego for coming up with this wise initiative.
However, Francis Akorikin the district chairperson Kapelebyong welcomed the development and urged the youth to embrace this project.
He further warned the youth against wasting much of their time in trading centers doing unproductive activities like playing cards, Omweso and ludo.
