The former presidential candidate Joseph Kabuleta has today rallied a section of Bukdei sub region opinion leaders and former 2021 political contenders in different positions to mobilize their communities and demand services from the government for progress to be registered.

Kabuleta is currently touring different parts of the country under National Economic Empowerment Dialogue; a movement he says is aimed at bringing bad governance witnessed in the country to an end.

Speaking to Bakedi at Link Way today, Kabuleta wondered why Bukedi sub region blessed with numerous natural resources like gold, phosphate, limestone, Uranium, and two entry points of Busia and Malaba is still mentioned among the poorest sub regions in the country.

Kabuleta then asked Bukedi people to stop asking for government’s support because for many years now, the current regime has proven that it doesn’t care about the population’s wellbeing.

He noted that the only people enjoying Uganda are foreigners who collaborate with government to loot Ugandans and whatever they make is repatriated to their respective countries while Ugandans are left with nothing.

Speaking at the same Dialogue, Tororo district NRM publicity David Apiaun Ofwono said Ugandan education system needs prayers and its high time government thought of revamping it before it goes to the dogs.

In his part, Edward Okware the former Tororo district councilor for elder persons wondered why Bukedi Sub Region is stagnant concerning development thereby calling upon the locals to work towards unity and revisiting the deteriorating education system.

Lazarus Oketch a mother key note speaker at the Dialogue said that the biting poverty in Bukedi seems to be a deliberate move by government noting that this started when government disabled the growing of cotton which was the major earning of the sub region.

In a nut shell, the Dialogue saw stakeholders praise the history of the sub region while they cursed the current occurrences.
