The ceremony that was graced by the Minister of State for Fisheries, Hellen Adoa took place yesterday 12th, December, 2021.
Adoa who also doubles as the Woman MP of Serere District congratulated the Deacons saying it is not easy to attain what they have since the devil is also at work.
She advised them to pray and fast because there is a lot of fighting even in churches.
“Don’t spend all money for Christmas as you have a lot coming ahead of you, even if your kid is pregnant, take her to school, let’s take back our kids to schools,” she advised.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Ebwalu, the Soroti City West Division MP asked the Christians to thank government for appointing a number of Teso leaders to top offices and called for unity for the betterment of the people.
Bishop Sam Eibu Okiror of the Baptist Church told the new Deacons that they had become the light of the day and encouraged them to turn on the light as they do the work of God.
Bishop John William Erwau Emeritus, the former of St Peters Cathedral advised the Deacons to know who called them and ask for faith so that they follow the good footsteps.
“Be strong and courageous for the Lord will never let you down, Celebrate Christmas like there is another tomorrow because there are many other things coming up, ensure that you support the work of God as we have to complete this church,” he added.
