Police in Mbale is holding 38 year old man on suspicion of murdering his own wife on the night of 10th January, 2022 after long fights.
The suspect is identified as Godfrey Mulimba, a resident of Babweya lower village, Lukhonge Sub County in Mbale district whereas the deceased was identified as Beatrice Nekesa.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, Mulimba killed his wife by hanging her on a mango tree located at his compound using a rope where children found the body dangling.
He adds that basing on neighbours, the two had misunderstandings the night before with Mulimba accusing the deceased of extramarital sex.
Taitika said the body had been taken to Mbale city mortuary for post-mortem with Mulimba being detained at Busoba sub county police post.
He warned married people against involving themselves in domestic violence saying that they should address them to local leaders or police.
