SOROTI CITY

The new Hospital Director Soroti Regional Referral Hospital, Dr. Watmond Benedicto has been warned to keep the newly improved image of the facility or face residents’ wrath.

The warning was sounded by the no-nonsense, Teddy Acham, the NRM party mobiliser in Teso Sub Region during the handover function held at the Hospital boardroom yesterday 31st January, 2022.

Acham urged Dr. Watmond to work positively with others following the bad reports that have been circulating about his previous work. She promised to take serious action if he went astray because it will spoil the good image of the hospital that took a while to get.

“We were scared of your record following the rumors around but we do welcome you to Soroti and wish the best outcome from your leadership but don’t behave like a chameleon that changes colours because we won’t accept it and accept all people and give them equal treatment,” she added.

Dr. Mwanga, the outgoing director appreciated his team for their unity and hard work thus putting the hospital in the map.

“I was supposed to have left early but due to some reasons I had to stay a little bit long, I urge the new director to work with all the staff so as to see good yields,” he added.

Meanwhile, Dr. Watmond appealed to all stake holders to join hands together with the hospital administration for one common goal and ensure that the mission is achieved.

He said the vision is to build a strong hospital that will be upgraded into a national hospital.

Dr. Olaro Charles a representative from the health ministry described the transition as being simultaneous and advised the new director to work closely with the staff.

The chairman board of Soroti Regional Referral hospital welcomed the new director and promised to work closely with him.

Meanwhile Hon. Moses Attan Okia the MP for Soroti City East welcomed the new director and promised to work closely with the administration for the good of the people.
