Government through the Ministry of Teso Affairs has today 10th February 2022 handed over a classroom Block to the school management of Obalanga Comprehensive secondary school in Kapelebyong district.

The four classroom Block and offices were funded in the financial Year 2020/21 worth two hundred thirty seven million six hundred seventeen thousand five hundred nine shillings.
Obalanga Comprehensive secondary school was established following a presidential pledge made by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on 25th May 2005 upon his visit to Obalanga Sub County following the invasion of Lord Resistance Army rebels to Teso through Obalanga Sub County on 15th June 2003.
The school opened on 16th February 2015 with locally recruited teachers.
On the 14th September 2015, Education Service Commission recruited 21 teachers and five none teaching staff who were posted to the school on 8th December 2015 by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Robert Edimu, the Head Teacher said that with the enrollment of over 700 students, the school is faced with the challenge of a science laboratory, ICT laboratory and a multipurpose Hall.
Edimu also added that the institution doesn’t have staff quarters so the whole staff operate from a distance of about 2 kilometers in the nearby town council where they have rented.
Anthony Esenu, the Member of Parliament Kapelebyong County representing the State Minister for Teso Affairs, Hon Dr. Ongallo Obote thanked the government of Uganda for supporting the education sector in Kapelebyong by building a Classroom Block in Obalanga Comprehensive secondary school.
Esenu said as leaders of Kapelebyong district, their major area of interest is to strengthen the education in Kapelebyong district.
He therefore asked the parents to take lead in educating their children and make sure that they send all their children back to school including the pregnant girls.
