AMOLATAR
The fishing community in Nalubwoyo landing site, Nalubwoyo Sub County, Amolatar district are living in shock after four of their own drowned to death after jumping off their fishing boats.
Now in an attempt to resolve the mystery, residents have resolved to carry out cleansing prayers to fight what they believe is a marauding spirit that is after human blood.
In a meeting organized on the 15th February 2022 by the Local Council Three Chairman Nalubwoyo, Hon. Ochen Yubo, agreed to go by what his residents had decided.
Ochen Yubo said they are going to bring prayer warriors to help stop the jumping off the boat by the fishermen who are dying in the same manner.
The locals believe that their area is infested with spirits arguing that it could be the reason the fishermen are jumping off their boats while fishing and die.
The area local council one chairperson, Yahaya Kasim seconded a call for a cleansing prayer over the same spirit force which the natives believe is responsible for the death of fishermen.
On the other hand, when contacted the chairman of the landing side, Mr. Awany Peter said the level of water has also increased arguing that the biggest challenge is death of fishermen from the Landing site.
Nalubwoyo landing site is one of the sites where its road network has been cut by rising water levels of Lake Kyoga and leaving it an island.
