Police at Lira central police station has completed an investigation against former Rupiny newspaper journalist, Jasper Awio accused of killing his lover, Amongi Monica.
Recently, Awio reportedly sneaked to the home of his lover Monica Amongi in Omodo, Lira city West division and hacked her to death.
Following the incident, Awio handed himself over to police and confessed to have murdered Amongi.
Consequently, Awio attempted to commit suicide while in prison and was rushed to Lira Regional Referral hospital after his arrest to receive treatment.
North Kyoga Region police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema told this reporter in a telephone interview that Awio was discharged from hospital.
He added that police have completed investigation against Awio’s case and his file has been forwarded to the Resident State Attorney for perusal and advice.
