SOROTI CITY
The youths in Soroti City are mourning the mysterious death of former Soroti city Mayor Aspirant Elias Ejoku.
Ejoku contested as a city Mayor Soroti in the 2021 general election in the National Unity Platform ticket but lost.
The NUP Regional coordinator William okoit George said that police told them Ejoku was hit by thugs at night and died of a brain injury.
“There are cameras in Kampala where the incident happened . Our hope is that the security takes full responsibility for the investigation and comes up with a conclusive investigation on what happened to the late” he said.
Ekoit described the late as a peace loving and constructive youth.
On social media many young people like the Soroti District councilor representing Tubur Bob Owiny shared his feeling of the unclear shocking demise of fellow youths.
“It’s now too much , as we were burying scouts commissioner Okello Richard Okello in Awelu , Amuria is when I received the bad news of the passing on of my brother , classmate and actually desk mate in S. 1B Soroti S. S , Comrade Ejoku Elias. As I am still coming to terms with Ejoku’s death , I again received sad news of the passing on of another childhood brother and friend , OB primary and Alumni Ucc Soroti comrade Simon Oyara. May their souls rest in peace, will update you on burial arrangements
Noah Atidi said on his facebook post “Soroti he’s no more I can’t believe that you died under cool blood. Am left speechless and heartbroken. We shall miss you, our lord mayor of Soroti City. May GOD grant you with the best resting place in heaven I dearly miss you?”
Preparatory meeting for the burial of the deceased is going on at the family’s home Omirio Gweri Road.
