A woman who gave birth to four healthy baby boys at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital in April this year has been abandoned by her husband and father to the quadruplets.
Harriet Ojambo aged 46 years of age a resident of market cell Lwakhakha town council in Namisindwa is now struggling to support her two months old 4 newly born baby boys.
According to Ojambo, her husband abandoned her the same day she gave birth to the quadruplets at Mbale Regional Referral Hospital.
“The day I was operated and gave birth to my boys, is the day my husband disappeared to an unknown place for fear of taking responsibilities and saying it was a bad omen for a wife to produce four children.” Ajiambo told this website.
Ajambo adds that she has tried all means of tracing the husband but she has failed but only gets rumors from people that he is in Nairobi, Kenya.
She also says that currently she is facing challenges of supporting these four kids in terms of feeding, clothing and medication since the husband deserted and she is not working anywhere to get money for their upkeep.
Redemuda Nabulya, a neighbor adds that she has tried all means of donating her breast milk and some money to the babies and the mother but she can’t satisfy them since she also has little income.
She urged good Samaritans to come in and support this mother and her kids with all kinds of support such that she can raise the babies.
John Musila, the Member of Parliament representing Bubulo East constituency in Namisindwa district, has urged police of Uganda to work with Kenya and trace where the husband is hiding from so that he can take responsibility.
