Government Launches Free Internet Service Centre In Bugisu Region

The government of Uganda under the Ministry of Information and Technology ICT has launched a free internet service center plant in the Elgon region.

 

While launching the main plant service centre yesterday 13th July 2022 at Mbale district head offices located at Malukhu in Mbale city, Carolina Akello who represented the Executive director of the National information technology Authority under the ministry of information and technology said that this internet plant is going to supply free internet to all public institutions of high learning, government health facilities and local government administrative offices.

 

She said that the internet is going to be connected to those places from the main plant through cables such that students, workers at local government units, medical workers and patients can access free internet to carry out their duties.

 

Akello also says that currently, the world is digital as governments have started installing free internet in public places.

 

Tom Musungu, public relations officer of Mbale district local government expressed his happiness saying that this is going to improve service delivery at local government units.
