Police in the Sironko district have arrested three people while three remain at large over allegations of Bajaj motorcycle theft.
Mr. Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson said the three are in police custody and are awaiting being arraigned in court to answer to cases of theft and will be produced in courts of law after investigations on charges of theft are complete.
While addressing the media Mr. Taitika, said the six people have knowledge of about the 19 motorcycles which were stolen from Kampala at Watu financing company in March this year and they sold these motorcycles to different people in Sironko.
He named the suspects as Joshua Nabutewa from Mutufu Town Council, Allan Wanambwa of Bududa Town Council and Muhammed Arafat Balejusa from Sironko district.
He further explained that they have so far recovered 4 motorcycles from different areas in Sironko whereby the owners are claiming to have bought them from Miracle Motors Limited, the home of those arrested.
Mr Taitika said police has intensified the hunt for the three who are at large and more 16 motorcycles in their custody
