Cabinet in it’s Monday 22nd August, 2022 meeting resolved to stop Parish Chiefs from being signatories to the Parish Development Model Funds.
This was revealed by the State Minister of Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang while sensitizing Ngariam County leaders on operationalization of the Parish Development Model yesterday, 23rd August,2022.
Ogwang also gave out 140 bicycles to Ngariam county parish councillors, in Katakwi district.
He also gave 2,000 chairs to the Sub Counties of, Okore, Ngariam and palam. Ogwang said other sub counties that benefited recently are, Getom, Akoboi, Katakwi Town council respectively. The remaining sub county of Katakwi is where Ogwang hails from, which he says will be sorted as soon as possible.
The Minister said, the meeting has given light to over 500 selected leaders across Ngariam county inline to the method of implementing parish Development model programme.
The Ngariam County legislator however informed the public that, basing on the cabinet decision yesterday monday 22/8/2022 in Kampala, they agreed to withdraw the parish chiefs from being the signatories in the accounts of parish Development model.
” I’m a state Minister for education and sports and I’m engaging Federation of Uganda football association (Fufa) to come to Katakwi district to assess the ground for the construction of the district stadium meant to develope sports in the region among others, include football and athletics” Minister Ogwang added.
Ogwang added that the stadium is going to be a two in one, for athletics and sports.
