A petrol station manager in one of the petrol stations in Bukedea Town Council has been shot dead while two other employees of the same station have been critically injured in a daring armed robbery.
Daniel Esipan, the acting manager of Petro City Fuel Station was shot dead last night, 25th September, 2022 at around 9:00PM while Tom Omoto, the pump attendant and Ivan Masete, the station security guard were critically injured.
According to police, the armed robbers attacked the station yesterday night at around 9pm and moved away with an unknown amount of money, phones and other properties.
According to the preliminary information, an unidentified person snatched Askaris Gun which was then used to occasion the robbery at the station through discharge of the bullets to achieve the assailant’s objectives.
The two were rushed to Bukedea health center IV and later referred to Mbale regional hospital.
Oscar Gregory Ageca, the east Kyoga police spokesperson confirmed this saying the investigations are underway.
Moses Okurut, the chairperson LC of Emokori ‘A’ cell where the station is located said this is the first time robbery of a fuel station has happened in Bukedea. He said this has shocked majority of the community members.
“We are witnessing this for the first time here in Bukedea, robbing stations using guns and killing people, I want to request the government through police if possible to add more enforcement,” said Mr. Okurut.
However the robbed station is only 75 meters away from Bukedea central police station.

Sam Odeke, a resident of Kakere village in Kocheka Sub County said government should deploy UPDF in all police stations since most police officers have failed to perform their duties.
William Okoche, another resident of Bukedea Town Council said government should get a way of stopping robberies adding that in his village in Malera, cattle theft cases are registered every day and whenever police sniffer dog is employed, no suspect is arrested
“It looks like theft is now police business,” Okoche said.
Hajji Imran Muluga, the Resident District Commissioner Bukedea visited the scene and urged locals to remain calm as security investigates.
By press time, the body of the deceased was still lying in Bukedea health center IV Mortuary pending postmortem.
