GO AHEAD: Minister of Gender allows Emorimor’s Coronation to Proceed
In her letter dated October 20, 2022, Amongi instructed the Soroti RCC to permit the Coronation of the paramount chief for ICU, Papa Paul Sande Emolot Scheduled for October 22, 2022.
SOROTI – The Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development Betty Amongi Ongom has instructed the Soroti Resident City Comissioner Peter Pex Paak to allow the installation of Paul Sande Emolot as New Iteso Cultural Union Leader (Emorimor) to Proceed as planned.
Earlier this week the Soroti RCC in a a radio address said that his office was not going to allow the installation of Emorimor after he got a court order blocking the installation.
But, after holding a meeting with two warrying factions on Wednesday, the Minister of Gender was informed that Emolot was dully elected to takeover the leadership position of Ateker.
In her letter dated October 20, 2022, Amongi instructed the Soroti RCC to permit the Coronation of the paramount chief for ICU, Papa Paul Sande Emolot Scheduled for October 22, 2022.
She also in the same letter revorked the earlier letter issued by PM Ministry of Gender on October 14, 2022 which had informed the of October the RCC not to allow the intended Coronation of Paul Sande Emolot.
She said that the revocation was based on the new facts established that there was no court order blocking the enthronement.
The seat for Emorimor fell vacant after the demise of His Highness Augustine Lemukol Osuban in February 2022. Emolot now becomes the third Emorimor succeeding Augustine Osuban.
