KAMPALA
A fatal motor accident that occurred this morning, 27th October 2022 at 8:30am at Kabuusu round about in Rubaga Division, Kampala City has so far claimed five lives.
This was revealed by Faridah Nampiima, the KMP Traffic Police Spokesperson who says seven others were injured.
The 8:30am road crash claimed the lives of three boda boda riders; Gerald Ssemata, Semei Ndondo and another only identified as Ssenfuma.
Florence Nansubuga, a passenger on bike and another passenger who’s yet to be identified also died in the crash.
The motor accident involved an Isuzu Elf Reg NO: UBH 321T being driven by a one Ssembatya Gerald, while the five motorcycles involved were all bajaj boxers, UFN 226F, UET 422T, UEZ 579U, UFH 520P, UEX 504C and a bicycle (sport bike).
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident was caused by the Isuzu ELF truck which lost control while coming from Rubaga road and rammed and knocked five motorcycles and a bicycle that were entering Kabusu roundabout.
The Rubaga accident has happened just hours after another truck crashed into Awoja swamp along Soroti –Mbale highway, killing 5 cattle traders and injuring 7 others.
