MBALE
A Tata truck driver has died in a motor accident that occurred today, 2nd November, 2022 at 6:00am at Mailo Eight along Mbale-Tororo highway.
The accident that involved Tata truck number UBK 742N coming from Mbale town heading to Tororo and an Isuzu truck number UBG 398P from Tororo heading to Mbale town left the Tata turn man critically injured.
Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Siragi aged 35 years and a resident of Nakusi cell, Namanyonyi in Northern City Division, Mbale City and the turn boy as John Okiti, a resident of Kapiri village, Ngora district.
Taitika says that the deceased and turn boy were all occupants of the Tata Truck whereas the occupants of the Isuzu truck never got serious injuries.
“The turn boy from Tata vehicle who got injuries is currently getting treatment at Mbale regional referral hospital in critical conditions as the body of the deceased is at Mbale city mortuary,” Taitika status.
Taitika also says that they are still investigating the cause of the accident.
