Minister Kitutu Gives Updated Burial Program for Kuuya, Ex Obote II Minister

Parliament Donates Shs10M to Support Burial Program

The Minister for Karomoja Affairs and Woman Member of Parliament Manafwa District has given an update on the burial program for the late Patrick Masette Kuuya, former Minister of Rehabilitation during the Obote II government.

 

Kitutu who was updating the media on phone this morning, 8th December 2022 said Kuuya’s body is currently in the country at St. Paul Bukoto Church of Uganda in Kampala for holy mass and that it will be brought to Mbale tomorrow (Friday.)

 

Kitutu revealed further that on Friday this week, the body will be taken Mbale city stadium which he lobbied for during his era as a minister for public viewing and another holy mass at St. Andrews Mbale diocese before handing it over to old boys of Nabulamali high where he studied from.

 

Kitutu adds that the body will be taken to his ancestry home at Bumatoola I village, Bunangabo parish Khabutoola Sub County in Manafwa district for burial on Saturday.

 

Meanwhile Kitutu says Parliament of Uganda has donated ten million shillings to support different activities during the burial of Masette Kuuya.

 

Kuuya died two weeks ago from Nairobi in Kenya where he went for exile in 1985 after the overthrow of the Obote II government by Tito Okello Lutwa.

 

Nathan Nandala Mafabi, former leader of opposition and Member of Parliament representing Budadiri West constituency in Sironko district has praised Kuuya for being an exemplary leader who was the heart of Bugisu during Obote II’s regime.
