MBALE CITY
Two people have been confirmed dead from Nakaloke in Mbale city after being knocked by a speeding YY bus along Mbale – Kumi highway last night, 8th December, 2022.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon region police spokesperson, the deceased are both males and have not yet been identified. He says the two were traveling on bajaj boda boda motorcycle number UBK 649L.
Taitika stated that the speeding YY coach bus number UBE 683J was coming from Lira heading to Mbale city knocked the boda boda rider and passenger he was carrying and both died on the spot due to over bleeding.
He adds that the driver of the bus, Bernard Waburo has been arrested and the two bodies have been taken to Mbale city mortuary for postmortem.
Police have warned road users against over speeding and reckless driving during this festive season to avoid putting their lives in danger.
