Cattle Rustlers Arrested Before Carrying Out Raid in Kotido, 2 Guns Recovered

A joint security force has busted cattle rustling criminal cells in the Karamoja district of Kotido as they were preparing for a raid.

 

The cells were busted on the evening of Thursday, 29th December 2022 at Nakabale and Lokorok trading centers in Kotido District.

 

This was revealed by the Ag. PRO Mt. Moroto AIP Longole Mike in a press statement issued today, 31st December, 2022 where he says that an intelligence led operation was conducted at 3:00 PM on Thursday disrupted armed cattle rustlers who were planning to go and raid animals in Kaabong District.

 

Longole says that at Lokorok trading center, one prime male adult suspect by the name of Kokoi Limakori was arrested and two guns recovered.

 

“Two guns and 24 rounds of ammunition were recovered from his house with the following descriptions; SMG Reg number UG 1817(bolt carrier) with 24 rounds of ammunition and an SMG No 04421(bolt carrier) with 10 rounds of ammunition.

 

Four pairs of digital uniforms were recovered and one pair of jungle boot also recovered.

 

At Nakabale trading center, 24 other suspects were arrested and taken to 405 Brigade headquarters for further investigations, while one warrior was injured in the confrontation and was taken to Kotido Health centre.

 

“Based on our intelligence and community cooperation, similar operations will continue as and when required in order to further break criminal cells, maintain security and peace in Karamoja,” Longole says.
