Authorities in the Education department in Bukedea district are investigating circumstances under which a primary four class teacher of Akutot primary school in Kangole Sub County graded a pupil’s report card without marks.

A class teacher only identified as Odele was accused of grading a pupil’s report without marks obtained on the teaching subjects of English, SST, Math and Science.

The report card seen by this report shows that the pupil was in position 36 and was advised to repeat primary four. Interestingly, the Headmaster also signed the report card with a comment that the pupil should “follow the teacher’s advice.”

Abubakar Ibirot, the pupil’s parent, says his son reported to him that the class teacher denied them marks because he didn’t submit a sweeping broom.

In an interview with the pupil whose identity was withheld after access to the report card indicates that the class teacher was wrong.

Jane Anyango, the Bukedea District School Inspector says the class teacher is to be summoned with immediate effect.
