An angry mob in Bumafumba village, Bukhofu Sub County in Manafwa district has lynched a 19 year old suspected burglar.
The incident happened this morning, 15th February, 2023 when 19-year-old youth identified as Dick Wanambwa was lynched.
According to Rogers Taitika, the Elgon Region Police Spokesperson Wanambwa entered Ekisoferi Ngituku shop after cutting an iron sheet with intention of stealing property but the owner made an alarm that attracted locals.
He adds that locals turned up with stones, bricks, and sticks and started beating up the suspect until he died on spot due to over bleeding.
Taitika also warned people against taking the law in their hands saying it’s a crime to kill anybody since someone is innocent until proved guilty by a competent court of law.
