Sironko Parents Secondary School located at Sironko town council in Sironko district has won the district 2023 volleyball and netball competition.
The district matches were held at Mutufu Town Council on Wednesday, 15th March, 2023 where all government and private secondary schools at Sironko participated.
While speaking during the award of the trophies, Isaiah Sasaga Wanzira, the Regional Chairperson of Secondary School Sports Association and Member of Parliament representing Budadiri East constituency in Sironko district urged schools to increase funding in sports activities.
Sasaga added that sports is one of the highest paying jobs in the whole world which all young people must be encouraged to do.
Lydia Gimono, the Sironko district LC5 vice chairperson said the district council is going to increase funding of the sports sector in the next budget of 2024/2025.
She adds that this will enable schools to get some good money to organise sports activities in the district.
Barbra Wanyeze, one of the technical organising officers during the tournament said Sironko parents is going to represent Sironko district in volleyball and net ball at the regional level.
