Parish chiefs and executive committee members at different  parish development  model groups at Namisindwa district are charging 30% kickbacks from beneficiaries.

Last week, Namisindwa district officially launched the distribution of cash to beneficiaries at all sub counties.

This was revealed by the Namisindwa Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Imran Muluga today, 28th March, 2023 while speaking at Bukhaweka Sub County during PDM program monitoring meeting at Bukhaweka town council.

Muluga says that he has got complaints from many beneficiaries at different sub counties. He adds that each beneficiary is asked to pay 30% of the money applied for.

Muluga says that he has got the names of parish chiefs and committee executive members who are behind this and has handed names to police for investigations warning that they will  be arrested for corruption and fighting government programs.

Andrew Wabweni, the Namisindwa District Parish Development Model Focal Person told this website that beneficiaries are claiming that the Parish Chiefs and Executive Committee members are demanding the 30% as reward for helping register them under the program.

He urged the beneficiaries to report any body asking for kickbacks from them such that they can be arrested.

Wabweni also says that those who gave kickbacks will pay all the money which was given to them back to government.

He says that during youth lively hood program they had similar problems and this made some youths fail to pay back the money since most of the percentage was taken by sub county chiefs and sub county CDs which will not be accepted in PDM.
