The office of the Chief administrative Officer Soroti, Aggrey Winston Muramira has been opened.
On Monday, angry councilors locked his office on grounds that he has failed to execute his duties in the district as the accounting officer and should leave the district.
However, Abraham Ekwaru the communication officer Soroti district noted that the office was opened yesterday, 9th, May, 2023 after a stakeholders’ engagement with the councilors.
He said the councilors were told to follow the rightful procedure of expressing their dissatisfaction with the CAO but not locking his office.
According to the local government act chapter 68, the district or urban council may recommend the removal of a chief administrative officer or town clerk as the case may be by a resolution supported by two-thirds of the council members on the following grounds of abuse of office, incompetence, misconduct or misbehavior.
