Catherine Seera, a resident of Namabya sub-county but who had come to visit her sister identified as Edisa Nanzala living at Busanza cell, Busanza ward, Magale town council in Namisindwa district has committed suicide by hanging.
Residents woke up this morning, 15th June 2023 to find the lifeless body of Seera hanging on a tree just 100 feet away from where a S.3 student hanged herself three weeks ago after being dumped by a boyfriend. Residents now think there could be a bad spirit hovering over the area.
According to residents, Seera and Nanzala were competing for the love of a one Mobile Money dealer in Magale Town Council and that there was a heated altercation between the two the previous evening.
It is believed, Seera then decided to make herself beautiful by visiting a saloon where she made her hair, applied make up and then proceeded to hang herself.
According to Stephen Butsiba, one of the area residents, the deceased and her sister were competing over one boyfriend which might have caused the death.
Martin Muyekukha, the LCIII chairperson of the Magale town council has confirmed the incident saying they are still investigating the real cause of her death.
He urged locals to always seek legal means in case of any misunderstanding than holding laws in their hands.
By press time, the body was still dangling on the mango tree as locals wait for the police to come and intervene.
