Nakibus Lakara among Eleven Generals Officially Retired From Army

H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda and Commander in Chief of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces has approved the retirement of 110 General Officers and Senior Officers from the UPDF.

 

According to the Defence Forces Spokesperson, Brig. General, Felix Kulaigye, among the retired officers are 11 Generals and 99 Senior Officers from the rank of Major to Colonel.

 

The list that was released on Monday, 3rd July, 2023 has General Kale Kayihura Army No RO/00513, Lt. Gen. James Nakibus Lakara, Maj. Gen. Samuel Wasswa Mutesa, Maj. Gen. Joseph Arocha, Maj. Gen. David K Wakaalo, and Brig. Gen. Austine Kasatwooki.

 

Others are; Brig. Gen. Stephen Oluka, Brig. Gen. Frank Katende, Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Kwihangana, Brig Gen. Wilson Muhabuzi and Brig. Gen. Ham Atwooki Kaija.

 

Kulaigye says these officers will be retired on 31st of August 2023 in Batch 13A.

 

Batch 13 B will accommodate others not catered for in this batch.

 

“We appreciate the services of the Officers to their country while in active service and wish them good luck in their new endeavors,” the army said.
