The arrest of the Bukedea Resident District Commissioner and District Police Commander has been confirmed by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit.
In a brief statement issued this evening of 10th July 2023, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit says the RDC, Wilberforce Tukei and DPC, SP Charles Okoto have been arrested over the messed up Bukedea LCV By-election.
The arrest brings to seven district officials arrested for allegedly robbing one of the candidates for the seat, Steven Omagor of monies totalling to over 170m and taking away his electoral papers.
Omagor was eventually stopped from getting nominated by the same goons.
The statement did not reveal where the duo is currently detained or when it will be arraigned before courts of law.
