Police investigations have revealed that the triple hacking to death of two children and their mother last week was carried out by the head of the family.
According to Fred Enanga, the police spokesperson, the territorial Police in Savannah and Luweero, registered a gruesome murder of 3 family members, and critical injury of two others and a suicide by hanging of the jilted head of family.
Enanga in a statement dated 11th July, 2023 says the facts gathered indicate that a one Steven Musisi, a 68-year-old head of family had been having a domestic conflict with his wife, Nagayi Aisha, for having produced two children with another man.
“On the night of the 5.07.2023, he hacked his wife and mother to his children to death, as well as Namiiro Esther aged 9 and Mutebi Jonathan aged 1 and a half years,” Enanga says.
He also inflicted grave injuries to Namutebi Carol aged 7 and Namuddu Cathy aged 5. The mother and two children, were got in different beds with deep cuts on the heads.
The family had no conflict in the area, where they had spent four years after migrating from Kikololomba village in Busiika. The head of this family after attacking his family, and presuming them all dead, picked a rope and hanged himself on the door to his bedroom at Bukomba village, Nakikooda parish in Luweero district.
The two victims Namutebi Carol and Namuddu Cathy are still in critical condition at Luweero hospital.
“We strongly condemn such acts of brutality. The suspect in this case was rife with jealousy, over his step children,” Enanga reveals.
