MBALE CITY
Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has sensitized business community members about digital way of paying tax using E receipt system.
While speaking during the sensitization exercise today, 20th July 2023 at Naboa road, Mbale city, Khafa Sehuya heading tax literacy department at URA said they want to improve on tax collection and reduce on tax losses by collectors.
She appealed to business people to download E receipt App on their computers and smart phones to help them in paying their taxes.
Sehuya says that URA has been losing lots of money in the former manual collection system arguing that the digital system is going to prevent losses urging all Ugandans to embrace the system.
Suzan Mutonyi and Samuel Mudenge both traders from Mbale city expressed their happiness saying this digital system will simplify payment of taxes instead of going to the banks or giving collectors.
They however complained that this digital system will not be accessed by all traders since some don’t have smart phones or computers.
