HEALTH/FEATURE
While cuddling can be comforting and enjoyable, it’s important to recognize that there are certain risks associated with it, especially when taken to the extreme. Let’s explore some of these risks.
MUSCLE STRAIN
Prolonged cuddling sessions can lead to muscle strain and discomfort. Maintaining the same position for too long may cause cramps or stiffness. Remember, moderation is key!
DECREASED BLOOD CIRCULATION
Believe it or not, extended cuddling could lead to decreased blood flow. This might result in numbness or tingling in limbs. It’s essential to change positions and stretch to keep that blood flowing.
SKIN IRRITATION
Intense cuddling could cause friction and lead to skin irritation. Be mindful of any redness or discomfort, and give your skin a chance to breathe. Your epidermis will thank you!
RISK OF OVERHEATING
Close contact during cuddling might raise your body temperature excessively. This could lead to overheating, potentially causing dizziness or nausea. Keep the room well-ventilated to avoid this risk.
SPREAD OF GERMS
Cuddling with someone who’s sick could increase your chances of catching their illness. Practice good hygiene, and if you or your partner are unwell, it might be best to postpone those cuddles.
