Territorial Police in Busia district is investigating circumstances under which a child was stolen from church at Customs road, Busia town, in Busia District.
This incident occurred on Tuesday, 29th August 2023 at Kubo village, Masafu Sub County in Busia district where a 3 weeks old baby girl was stolen from her biological mother, Rachael Nabwire.
It was reported that the mother lost her kid at a church where she had gone for prayers after being convinced by a one Esther Kisakya.
Kisakye first sent Nabwire to buy for her drinking bottled water at nearby shop leaving her with the kid before disappearing with the baby.
John Moses Mugwe, the Police Spokesperson of Bukedi South Region has confirmed the incident saying they are still hunting for Kisakya for the recovery of the baby.
He urged mothers to stop trusting people they don’t know with their children if they are to avoid such occurrences in future.
